Her goal is to build intuitive, accessible solutions that ease the emotional and operational load of caregiving and self-care.

At Maarge, Uma is committed to advancing the role of technology in improving quality of life. She focuses on designing systems that support caregivers, foster resilience, and empower individuals to live safely and independently at home. Headshot of Christopher Rios

Christopher Rios

Head of Product

SV UX & digital health builder with lived caregiving experience; designing practical, compassionate tools.

Christopher Rios — Full bio

Christopher Rios is Head of Product at Maarge, blending Silicon Valley UX design and digital health innovation with deep, personal caregiving experience. As an inaugural Leland Stanford Scholar, Chris studied Human Biology and Computer Science, shifting from an early interest in biomechanical engineering to building scalable healthcare solutions. At Stanford Startup Garage, he was directly mentored by early-stage investors behind Dropbox and DoorDash. Stanford’s selective Alternative Spring Break programs further shaped his understanding of healthcare, placing him alongside medical teams at Pine Ridge and Rosebud Reservations and policy leaders in Washington D.C.

Chris’s passion for design and technology began long before Stanford. Growing up in South Texas as a first-generation college student and second-generation American, Chris was valedictorian and PSAT Hispanic Merit Scholar, one of only three recipients district-wide, with additional early recognition from Duke University’s TIP program. Self-taught from a young age, he built websites for extra income and became nationally known as a teenage bodybuilding prodigy, earning over a million YouTube views and corporate sponsorship by sixteen.

Managing his OCD and serving as the primary caregiver for his permanently disabled father inspired Chris to launch a nonprofit in 2023, empowering neurodivergent communities through financial literacy, education, and disability advocacy. At Maarge, Chris uses his expertise across UX, software engineering, bioengineering, healthcare advocacy, and digital branding to create a caregiving solution based on real-life experience. For Chris, Maarge isn’t just a digital health companion, it’s the practical, empathetic tool he wished existed, reflecting a lifelong commitment to accessible, compassionate innovation.
